Shows a conceptualized drawing of “near occlusion” as a collapsed lumen beyond very severe stenosis with flow reduction associated with presumed physiological loss of diameter of the distal ICA. NASCET recognized that any % stenosis calculation from such a reduced distal ICA lumen was flawed.
